Terms of Service

1. Who can use MeshSail

You must be at least 18 years old to create or hold an account. We ask for your date of birth at signup and enforce this check in our database, not only in the signup form. If we learn that an account holder is under 18, we will close the account.

You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and you are responsible for activity that happens under your account. One person, one account.

2. Your content stays yours

You retain all ownership rights in the projects, descriptions, images, ratings, comments and messages you submit (“Your Content”). We claim no ownership of it.

By submitting Your Content, you grant MeshSail a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display it solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the service — for example, showing your project in the discovery feed, on its public page, and in a shareable health card. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in backups for a limited period and for the anonymised aggregate data described in our Privacy Policy.

You confirm you have the rights to everything you submit, and that submitting it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

3. What you may not do

The Acceptable Use Policy and the Community Guidelines form part of these Terms. Breaking them is breaking this agreement. In summary, you may not:

• post spam, scams, phishing, malware, or links that are not what they claim to be
• harass, threaten, or target other people
• impersonate another person, organisation, or MeshSail staff
• post content you do not have the rights to
• manipulate ratings or discovery ranking — including operating multiple accounts, trading ratings, or automating rating submission
• attempt to access data you are not authorised to see, or interfere with the service's operation

4. Credits and paid promotion have been retired

MeshSail previously ran an in-app credit balance that could be earned by rating projects and spent to boost a project up the feed. That is gone. Nothing on MeshSail earns credits, nothing spends them, and no placement in discovery can be bought — with credits or with money.

Balances recorded before this change still exist in your account's history and are included in your data export. They confer no entitlement of any kind: they are not money, not property, not a security, and cannot be sold, transferred, or redeemed for anything.

5. Projects and links are not vetted

Every project, description, and outbound link on MeshSail is submitted by a user. We run automated safety checks on submitted URLs, but we do not review, verify, endorse, or guarantee any project, link, claim, or person on this platform. Health scores and ratings are generated from user activity and self-reported or API-reported figures — they are indicators, not audits. Treat every outbound link with the caution you would give any link from a stranger, and make your own judgement before installing anything, entering data anywhere, or collaborating with anyone.

6. Collaboration and third-party services

Connecting a GitHub repository grants our GitHub App the permissions you approve during installation, including the ability to configure branch protection. We use those permissions to apply and maintain the review rules described in the product. We are not responsible for what collaborators do with access you grant them, for code they contribute, or for anything that happens in your repository. Review the permissions you give, and remember that adding someone to a team is a decision only you can make.

Your use of GitHub is also governed by GitHub's own terms. The same is true of any other third-party service you connect.

7. Connecting an AI agent (the MCP connector)

You may connect an AI coding assistant — such as Claude Code — to your account through our MCP connector. Doing so requires you to sign in here and approve a specific list of permissions on our consent screen. We issue that connection a token scoped to exactly the permissions you approved and tied to your account. A connected agent acts as you: anything it does under those permissions is treated as your action, in the same way as an app you install on your own GitHub account.

You are responsible for what you connect and for what it does on your behalf. Review the permissions before approving them, and disconnect anything you no longer use. Every connection and every action it takes is listed under Settings → Security, and disconnecting revokes its access immediately. We may suspend a connection that appears to be abusing the service.

Your use of the AI assistant itself is governed by that provider's own terms, not ours. We do not control its behaviour, its output, or its availability.

8. AI-assisted code verification

Teams may enable delegated verification, in which the team member currently holding the maintainer role points their connected agent at the team's documented protocol and has it record checks against incoming code. Before this can be switched on, each participant must accept the following acknowledgment in the product, which is recorded with a timestamp:

You understand that AI-assisted verification reduces risk but does not eliminate it, and your team retains responsibility for reviewing merged code.

That acknowledgment forms part of these Terms. Specifically, you agree that: a recorded check is a judgment, not a guarantee, and may miss defects, security issues or licence problems that a human reviewer would catch; recording a check does not approve, merge, or authorise anything, and your repository's own branch protection and human review remain the operative controls; and your team retains full responsibility for the code it merges and ships, exactly as it would without this feature. MeshSail gives no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of any check, and sections 9 and 10 apply to them in full.

Changing a team's verification protocol invalidates every acceptance of the previous version, and each member must accept again before delegated verification resumes.

Note:this clause covers a genuinely novel question — the allocation of responsibility when an AI system participates in reviewing a colleague's code — on which there is no settled law. It is written to be clear rather than to be comprehensive, and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. If you are relying on this feature in a commercial setting, have counsel look at this section specifically.

9. Moderation and termination

We may remove content, hide it pending review, limit account features, or suspend or terminate an account — with or without notice — where we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken, or where content presents a risk to other users. Content reported by multiple distinct accounts may be hidden automatically while a human reviews it.

You may close your account at any time from Settings. Sections 2 (as to the licence for content already distributed), 4, 5, 8, 10, 11 and 12 survive termination.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content on it is accurate.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MeshSail and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising from or related to your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case the above applies to the fullest extent permitted there.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MeshSail and its operators from any claim or demand — including reasonable legal fees — brought by a third party arising out of Your Content, your use of the service, or your breach of these Terms.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give notice in the product or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use MeshSail after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
